Gas Consortium May Form Corporate Board

VIVAnews - The consortium of PT Pertamina, PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (State Electricity Company), and PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk. (State Gas Company) will set up a director and executive board that will prepare the establishment of a joint company to run the LNG receiving terminal construction project in Banten.

Corporate Secretary of the State Gas Company (PGN) Wahid Sutopo said the establishment of corporate board of the LNG receiving terminal will be carried out in the next six months at the latest.

"We will also constitute the main clauses in the LNG receiving terminal company's establishment agreement," said Sutopo in a written statement on Monday, April 20.

He said that the clauses will cover LNG receiving terminal construction which will apply floating storage technology and regasification unit (FSRU) in western part of Java. The LNG utilization will be aimed at supplying domestic gas especially to state electricity company (PLN)'s power plant.

"The gas supply for the LNG project will be derived from a gas source in East Kalimantan with a total volume of 11.75 million tons in 11 years," he said.
