Yudhoyono for President, Survey
VIVAnews - The Justice and Prosperous Party (PKS) and the National Awakening Party (PKB) have a scientific basis of why they choose to join with the Democratic Party. Indonesian-based polling agency Lembaga Survei Indonesia found that the voters from the two parties tended to vote for a presidential candidate from the Democratic Party Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono in the coming presidential Elections.
There were 65.7 percent of PKS voters electing Yudhoyono as the president; 10.3 percent voted for Prabowo Subianto; and 4.8 percent elected Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X. 55.3 percent of PKB voters elected Yudhoyono; 16.4 percent chose Megawati; and 8.8 percent voted for Prabowo Subianto.
The interesting fact is that although the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) has Megawati Soekarnoputri as its figure, there were actually voters from the party who chose other presidential candidates.
"Those voters who voted for certain parties may vote for other presidential candidates," said Director of Research at Lembaga Survei Indonesia, Dodi Ambardi, on Thursday, April 16.
