XL Adds BlackBerry User Target in 2009

VIVAnews - PT Excelcomindo Pratama Tbk. (XL) revised the growth target of the BlackBerry customers into 150,000 clients in the end of 2009. While in the last February, the company aimed only 100,000 costumers.

It was affirmed by the manager broadband of BlackBerry & 3G XL Hardono Warih to VIVAnews in Jakarta on Friday, April 17. "The costumer growth is really fantastic. We were aiming 100,000 users in the end of 2009, but it seems that we will raise our target because the market capacity is beyond expectation," he explained.

Warih said that the user number of BlackBerry XL is reported having reached 60,000, higher above 100 percent than in the end of 2008 which hit 25,000 users.

The BlackBerry One service launching is predicted to have triggered the massive growth of its users. BlackBerry One service is the BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) for daily BlackBerry users that costs only Rp 5,000 (46 US cents) per day and Rp 150,000 (US$14) per month. Both services were launched in the last February.

"The composition is 45,000 out of 60,000 users use BB-One, the rest uses the regular service," Warih said.
