Indonesia Sees US Important Market

VIVAnews - Indonesian Chamber of Commerce (Kadin) requested that the United States unpins its market for Indonesian exporters.

"Indonesia has large market share in the United States," said Kadin Head MS Hidayat on Wednesday, Feb 18.

According to Hidayat, the US economy is now in trouble due to the global economic crisis. The US economy falls by more than 30 percent. "As a result, Indonesian exports are hampered," he said.

In addition, given the current situation, the United States tends to protect its domestic products. European countries have also questioned the attitude. "Yesterday, I met Deputy Prime Minister of Belgium who also protested over the matter," he said.

However, Hidayat understands that every country protects its market. "That is normal as long as it doesn't last longer," he said.

Therefore, Kadin expected that the United States recovers from its recession soon. Therefore, Indonesia may start exporting to the country.
