VIVAnews - Despite the fact that the Functional Group Party (Golkar) obtains the highest place in the survey, the Indonesian Research Agency (LRI) concludes that President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is still desirable for president. The Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono-Jusuf Kalla duet still sits at the highest position.

"It's because they're the incumbent, so the people seem to want them to carry on," said the managing director of LRI, Johan Silalahi, in a press conference at Sari Pan Pacific Hotel, Jakarta on Monday, Feb. 23.

The second favorite running mate for Yudhyono is Hidayat Nur Wahid. "There's only a slight difference compared to Jusuf Kalla," he said.

The survey on Yudhoyono's partner is based on this question: "If Yudhoyono is paired with these names, which would you prefer?"

The result is as follows:
1. SBY - Jusuf Kalla 37.7 percent;
2. SBY - Hidayat Nur Wahid 36.9 percent;
3. SBY - Sri Mulyani 18.94 percent; and
4. SBY - Meutia Hatta 10.32 percent.

The survey is conducted from 8 to 16 February 2009, involving 1,890 respondents which were proportionally taken from multistage cluster. Respondents were proportionally divided between 33 provinces. There is 2.23 percent margin of error with 95 percent of confidence.
