Hillary Clinton Arrives in Indonesia

VIVAnews - US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton arrived in Jakarta, Indonesia, by using the United States of America airplane today, 18 February at 2 pm, at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport.

Four cars were prepared to welcome the former US first lady. A car having license plate number CD 12 01 was ready to take Clinton from the airport to the five-star Four Seasons Hotel, Jakarta.

US Ambassador to Indonesia, Cameron Hume, Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Triono and Director General of the United States and European Affairs at the Department of Foreign Affairs, Retno Marsudi, welcomed Clinton.

Clinton, wearing a red outfit, was greeted by 44 students of SD Besuki, former elementary school where Obama studied. The students presented Clinton with two Indonesian traditional songs: Keroncong Kemayoran and Sigulempong. Two fifth-grade students gave Clinton a flower bouquet.

Hillary Clinton is accompanied by 40 people during her visit to Indonesia. President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Foreign Affairs Minister Hassan Wirajuda will also welcome the US Secretary of State.

At the hotel, no special security was apparent by either hotel officials or the Indonesian National Police. In fact, due to the loose security, hotel guests blended with Clinton at the main lobby.

Clinton appeared to greet several officials from the US Embassy for Indonesia as well as the Indonesian government.
