Papua Police Find Three Live Bombs

VIVAnews - Three assembled bombs were found under the Muara Tani bridge at the Indonesia's border with Papua Nugini on Wednesday, April 8, at around 10:00 a.m.

The chief of the Papua Police Inspector General Bagus Ekodanto confirmed on the three assembled bombs finding. "We suspect there are people who want to create a commotion while approaching the general elections," said Ekodanto.

The chief of the Papua Police said that the assembled bombs were first found by an Indonesian Army officer from Yonif 725. He only found one and it exploded. Later, he found the other two bombs on the same location but they did not go off.

"We have sent the mobile brigade's bomb deactivation [Jihandak Brimob] team, and we're still searching for the suspect," said the chief. There were not any casualty in the incident.
