No Country for Tax Heaven

VIVAnews - Director General of Taxes Darmin Nasution claimed that Indonesia will not imitate other countries as regards tax heaven implementation.

As a G-20 member country, Indonesia on the contrary agrees on insisting tight control over countries applying tax heaven. According to Finance Minister Sri Mulyani in various occasions, Indonesia has become the victim from the tax exemption policy issued by various countries.

"The tax heaven countries cause losses to us," said Nasution.

Those nations categorized as tax heaven countries do not actually exempt the investors from taxes. However, the countries offer low tax rates. Japan and South Korea are some tax heaven countries applying tax rates below 15 percent.
