Australian Ambassador Thanks Indonesia
VIVAnews - The Australian government appreciated the help from the Indonesian government and people in response to the Victorian bushfires in Australia.
Australian Ambassador Bill Farmer said the deployment of Indonesian Police disaster victim identification team to Australia was a form of mutual partnership between the two countries. "Both countries have cooperated well in Bali [concerning Bali bombing] and now [both countries] will team up in handling bushfires in Australia," he said.
In addition to sending out a team, the Indonesian government has also donated US$1 million to the Australian government. Of the total donation, the Indonesian government proposed for school renovation in Victoria, Australia. "This is a really important offer and it shows excellent partnership between the two countries," said Farmer.
The Australian and Indonesian government have agreed to build and renovate around 2,000 schools including 500 madrasa in Indonesia. "This is a relieving story amidst a tragedy. Australia thanks both the Indonesian government and people," said Farmer.
