Yudhoyono and Clinton Discuss Gaza Conflict
VIVAnews - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said he is hoping that the United States would pay full attention over the conflicts involving Palestine and Israel. According to Yudhoyono, the United States must solve the conflicts proactively.
"President [Yudhoyono] was upset that the conflicts in Palestine are still going on. Therefore, any attempts to gain peace in the area should be carried out as soon as possible," said presidential spokesperson Dino Patti Djalal on Thursday, Feb 19.
The disappointment was uttered by Yudhoyono as he met United States Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton at the Presidential Office. During the 45-minute session, the Indonesian President asked for the America's special attention to the conflict between Palestine and Israel.
In the occasion, Yudhoyono also said a sovereign Palestinian country should be set up as soon as possible. Therefore, according to Yudhoyono, both countries may live in peace.
Through Djalal, Yudhoyono claimed that the ceasefire processes are still prone to conflicts. The President stressed that Indonesia remains at its stance: supporting the establishment of peace in Gaza Strip.
