VIVAnews - PT Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk. (INDF) was reported going to acquired its non-business companies in 2009.
A source for VIVAnews stated that the company was planning to acquire a number of companies to support their plan for the Indofood business expansion plan in 2009.
Franciscus Welirang, the vice managing director if Indofood Sukses Makmur, when being confirmed on this issue said that he had not been informed so far on the acquisition plan. "I don't know," he said in a text message sent to VIVAnews in Jakarta on Monday, March 30.
Per January 31 2009, CAB Holdings Limited owned INDF-coded share for 50.05 percent and the rest was owned by public. While Water Partners Bottling SA owned Ades' shares for 91.94 percent and the rest was owned by public.
On Monday's trade, March 30, INDF was closed lower Rp 20 (2.08 percent) at level Rp 940 (8 US cents). JP Morgan Securities Indonesia's broker coded BK was recorded as one of the brokers that owned the most of Indofood's shares.
According to capital market observer Teguh Ramadhani, if the companies which are going to be acquired by Indofood will broaden their business, it will be posotive. Yet, if the companies do not posses big assets, it will give less responds. "But, INDF's share is still suitable to buy," he added.
Meanwhile, in the end of the third quarter in 2008, the company recorded net profit valuing Rp 1.14 trillion (US$98.70 million) per Rp 132 per share. Thus, making the net profit of the biggest producer of instant noodle in Indonesia increased for 52.01 percent than in 2007 for Rp 683.30 billion (US$59.16 million) or Rp 80 per share.
The leap in net profit was also followed by the increase of net sale from Rp 19.67 trillion (US$1.70 billion) to Rp 29.90 trillion (US$2.59 billion), higher 66.27 percent. Even the gross profit income of an issuer coded INDF was soaring almost double from Rp 4.31 trillion (US$373.15 million) to Rp 7.29 trillion (US$631.14 million).
