VIVAnews - Legal cases are improved and more complicated. However, the cases are only handled by judges whose educational background is graduate program.
"It will be hard for judges to take decision over cases that are more complicated like cyber crime," said Sofyan Effendy, an analyst of bureaucracy from Gadjah Mada University on Thursday, Feb 5.
Effendy revealed that judges graduating from graduate program reach 98 percent while the remaining judges have been through post-graduate program.
In addition, Effendy went on to say that the heavy load of legal cases has been a factor for judges to improve the quality of their verdicts. According to Effendy, judges must cope with averagely 100 cases per month. "The disparity between the number of judges and the amount of workload and legal cases is high," he said.
Therefore, Effendy suggested that the recruitment process should be carried out more competitively. The recruitment must also pay attention to the educational background of the judges.
