VIVAnews - Great Indonesia Movement (Gerindra) Party, which nominates retired General Prabowo Subianto as a presidential candidate, considered the Indonesian Military (TNI) as the nation's asset that is bound to democracy.
"Gerindra firmly denies thoughts and efforts that put the Indonesian Military as contrary to democracy," said Gerindra Party Secretary General Ahmad Muzani on Thursday, Feb 5.
For Gerindra, he said, the Indonesia Military is a pillar of democracy which strengthens democratization in Indonesia. According to Muzani, if the Indonesian Military is weak, it will degrade the Indonesian nation.
"A thought which considers TNI as the enemy of democracy is a misperception," he stressed. Therefore, TNI is the avant garde of the Indonesian unity.
