Australian Pedophile To Be Extradited

VIVAnews - The Indonesia Police extradited convicted pedophile, Alfred Charles Jarned (66) back to Australia.

Alfred was escorted out of the detention center of Jakarta Police Department around 4.30pm on Friday, Feb. 13.

Jarned who was wearing a shirt and carrying two bags directly climbed into a Toyota Innova no. B 8323 XS. He did not give any comment and avoided the reporters' questions.

The car that took Jarned was escorted by four other vehicles carrying police officers, and officials from the Justice and Human Rights Department, as well as Interpol.

According to the Deputy Director of Crime and Investigation at Jakarta Police Department, Adjutant Chief Commissioner Tornagogo, Jarned's extradition was possible because of cooperation with the Australia Police. "He will depart from Soekarno-Hatta airport at 8.40pm using Qantas airlines," he said, Friday, Feb. 13.

He added that before being extradited, Jarned will be handed over to two officers from Child Exploitation Unit of Australia Federal Police.

The convicted pedophile who was known to have been an English teacher was arrested by the police at his residence in Depok, West Java. Jarned sodomized nine under-aged children. He was a fugitive on a same case in his home country.

Aside from Jarned, there are four Australian citizens who are waiting for extraditions. Two of them are also related to pedophile cases, one has been charged with human trafficking, and another was involved in a scam scenario.
