VIVAnews - President Yudhoyono during his tight schedule in London did not forget about the Indonesia's democracy celebration agenda since the General Elections is only a few days to come. The President also urged all Indonesian citizens abroad for not being abstentious.

"Regardless your choice, [it] will contribute in appointing the person who will be given a mandate to run our government for the next five years," stated Yudhoyono during a gathering with 500 Indonesians living in the UK and Ireland, as quoted in Presidensby.info on Wednesday, April 1.

The gathering was held in Wisma Duta, residence of the Indonesian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary for UK Yuri O. Thamrin on Tuesday, March 31 (Wednesday in Jakarta).

The President hoped that the whole process of elections would run smoothly, despite the future winner. "[The election] is an important thing for democracy, we hope that the elections will be Luber [Direct, General, Free, Secret]," added Yudhoyono.

President Yudhoyono explained that the campaign actualization is going well. He also expected that the General Elections' safe and peaceful condition can be maintained until the presidential and vice presidential election.

"I'm happy [since] the political parties can direct their campaign thoroughly. The [political] figure is able to restrain on grass root level so preventing clash on the field," the President added.
