VIVAnews - The Functional Group (Golkar) Party decided to break the coalition with the Democratic Party by virtue of its disagreement with a point in the coalition draft.
Head of Central Board of the Democratic Party, Anas Urbaningrum, verified that both parties had formerly agreed to form a coalition either in the government or the parliamentary.
According to Urbaningrum, during a meeting held on April 21, Golkar proposed a coalition draft.
"Principally, every point in the draft has been approved except one of which ground is concerned with presidential and vice presidential candidates," he said on Wednesday, April 22, at the residence of Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, Puri Cikeas, Bogor, West Java.
He said that the meeting between Golkar and the Democratic Party found no way out because it was unclear whether or not Golkar would propose for more presidential candidates.
Earlier, Golkar stated that it had failed in lobbying the Democratic Party concerning the coalition format.
