AGO Team Failed to Meet with Adrian Kiki
VIVAnews - A team from Attorney General's Office (AGO) who is pursuing a fugitive of the Bank Indonesia Liquidity Assistance (BLBI) case did not meet with Adrian Kiki in Australia. The team has arrived back in Indonesia, said Jasman Panjaitan, Head of AGO Information and Law Center on Tuesday, Dec 16.
While there, the team met with local authorities, the [Australian Attorney General's Department] in Perth to discuss the extradition," said Panjaitan.
At this time, he said, Kiki has been arrested by the local authorities and will undergo legal processes in Australia. "The first detention period is 45 days effective as of November 28," said Panjaitan.
He said that the AGO is still making efforts to have the extradition done shortly to avoid the Hendra Rahardja case from taking place once again. Hendra Rahardja was the owner of Bank Harapan Santosa, allegedly involved in the case, who was rumored to have fled to Australi. "He [Rahardja] died before the extradition was completed," said Panjaitan.
In any case, he said, AGO still respects the legal processes in Australia concerning Adrian Kiki's case.
