Antam Spends Rp 17 billion on Exploration

VIVAnews - PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTM) announced on Tuesday, 13 January, that its commodity exploration up to December 2008 reached Rp 17 billion (approx. US$1.5 million). The company’s exploration project focused on nickel, gold, bauxite, and coal commodities.

Based on the company’s report to the Indonesia Stock Exchange in Jakarta, its total nickel exploration cost at Buli-Halmahera and Tapunoaka in Southeast Sulawesi reached Rp 9.8 billion (approx. US$880,000).

Whereas the cost of its gold explorations at Pongkor and Papandayan, West Java, Tirtomoyo (Central Java), Batangasai (Jambi), and Wawono in Southeast Sulawesi reached Rp 3.7 billion (approx. US$332,000).

Meanwhile, Antam’s total bauxite exploration cost at Mempawah, Munggu Pasir and Tayan, West Kalimantan reached Rp 2 billion, and its total coal exploration cost at Bangko and Merangin (Jambi), as well as in Kaimana and Sorong reached Rp 1.5 billion (approx. US$135,000)
