Three Homes Burnt Following A Fight

VIVAnews - Three out of nine homes were burned while dozens of people were injured following a fight involving youngsters from two neighboring villages in Cirebon, West Java.

The incident took place on Tuesday, Feb 17. Police arrested three people and confiscated hundreds of arrows and Molotov cocktails used for setting fire on people's homes.

Jumaenah, a witness, who like many Indonesians goes by one name, said the fight involved Sinarbaya Village, Gunungjati Subdistrict, Cirebon Regency and Kraton Village, Suranenggalam Subdistrict. The fight was triggered by a vengeance. "Last month, there was also a fight," said Jumaenah.

Last month's clash resulted in the looting of money amounting to hundreds of thousands of Rupiah as well as two TV sets.

Jumaenah was one of the inhabitants whose homes were burnt by Molotov cocktails.

Up until recently, several police officers are still on guard in the crime scene. The youngsters of the two neighboring villages have engaged in gang fight since 2002 following a quarrel in a football match.
