UAE to Invest Worth US$700 Million

VIVAnews - United Arab Emirates (UAE) is interested in investing in food and energy sector in Indonesia.

The intention was uttered by Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his Ambassador to Indonesia, Yousif Al-Sharhan, duing their visit to the Vice Presidential Palace on Thursday, March 12.

Indonesia was represented by Vice President Jusuf Kalla, Minister of Agriculture Anton Aprianto, Minister of Trade Mari Elka Pangestu, President Director of Pertamina Karen Agustiawan and Head of Capital Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Muhammad Lutfi.

"The meeting was aimed at improving the partnership concerning the economy. They will invest more in the East, especially in Indonesia," said Kalla.

According to Lutfi, the UAE will prepare budget of between US$600 million and US$700 million for the future investment.
