ICW Reports Directorate General of Tax

VIVAnews - The Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW) reported an allegation on corruption in the Directorate General of Tax. The corruption allegation was suspected occurred in a development project of tax data basis in 2004.

"It is suspected that the winner [of the project] had been allegedly engineered by arranging an agreed price," said the head for the Data and Analysis Center Division of ICW Firdaus Ilyas at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK)'s building in Jakarta, on Wednesday, April 1.

Ilyas said that the case started when PT Sucofindo met an official from the project division of the Directorate General of Tax. The meeting was facilitated by IWK, the director of PT Disiplan Consult. "He was an old partner and has been a project executor in the Directorate General of Tax," he explained furthermore.

He suspected the meeting was made to engineer the winner of a tax data basis development package X for Semarang, Ungaran, and Demak Directorate General of Tax. This project valued Rp 3,172,222,000 (US$274,378). The estimated state's loss in this case reaches Rp 1,603,578,012 (US$138,700).

"It is suspected the meeting was held to win PT Sucofindo," he added.
