National Oil Production Exceeds Target

VIVAnews - In early 2009, the Indonesia's oil and condesate production average exceeded the target on the 2009 state budget.

The average production of national crude oil on January and February was 963,000 barrels per day or 100.3 percent compared to the production target in the 2009 state budget of 960,000 barrels per day (b/d).

In a written statement issued by the Energy and Mineral Resources Department on February, the oil production average is 966,000 b/p or increases 6,800 barrels than in January's production 960,038 b/d.

The production increase was caused by the normal production in several oil fields which were operated by several holders of cooperation contracts.

The contractors who experienced increase or normal production were Petrochina Jabung, Pertamina EP, and BP Tangguh. Petrochina Jabung's production increased from 4,168 b/d to 19,068 b/d. The increase was caused by Petrochina Jabung's production returned to normal after an annual maintenance by Betara Gas Plant.

Pertamina EP had an increase on oil and condesate production of 694 b/d from 116,934 b/d to 117,628 b/d. The Pertamina EP's production returned to normal after succeeded managing the leak on the hose for Natuna lifting.

BP Tangguh experienced increase since the Vorwatta field has started its production with 604 b/d capacity on Jan. 28 2009.

The oil production average until March 16 was 960,374 b/d. Therefore it is expected that the oil lifting will reach the target in the 2009 state budget.
