17 Stocks Comply with Margin Transaction Term

VIVAnews - The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) indicated 17 stocks which complied with the margin transaction terms. Based on the calculation during March 2009, the stock number in the margin transaction dropped from a previous 19 stocks.

"The final will be in the end of April," said the director for Stock Trade, Research, and Business Development of the IDX MS Sembiring in Jakarta on Monday, April 6.

He said that the stock that enters margin transaction must comply with a number of terms, which among others are the daily stock liquidity and market capitalization value.

"Based on those terms, there were 17 stocks entered per March," he said.

However, the stocks that can be made into transaction by stock transaction settlement which causes short selling is predicted to be less.

"Short selling [stock] is less because it's more difficult," he added.

He hoped that the stocks which comply with the margin transaction terms and short selling can be run in May 2009. Nevertheless, margin and short selling stocks transaction is trusted to the stock exchange's members.

"Those who want it must prepare the system," he said.

Yet, Sembiring has not discovered the exact number of the stock exchange's members who will trade their stocks using margin mechanism and short selling. "Those who prepared will be seen in the third week," he added furthermore.
