VIVAnews – The Functional Group Party (Golkar) decided to create the opportunity for communicating and creating a political lobby which lead to a coalition with the Democratic Party.
“Since Democratic-Golkar partnership has been created and running since five years ago, it [the couple] fits organizationally,” said the deputy head of Golkar party Agung Laksono at the parliamentary building in Jakarta on Tuesday, April 14.
Yet, the speculation on whether the coalition between Democratic and Golkar would be made into account or not after the vote counting finishes would be answered by the Democratic Party's high officials, Laksono answered. “[The decision] depends on Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono [the head of board of trustees of Democratic Party],” he added.
Laksono could not give further explanation of Yudhyono and Kalla meeting at Cikeas on Monday, April 13.
Concerning the Justice and Prosperous Party (PKS)' statement on separating the Democratic Party if Golkar joins the coalition, Laksono again stated that he could not answer that for the time being. “Still, do not use threats. There is only one vice presidential seat,” he added.
