VIVAnews - Agung Podomoro and Ciputra have been appointed to become the developer on the Jl. Prof. Dr. Satrio or Casablanca area metamorphosis, making it similar to Orchard Road in Singapore. Agung Podomoro has invested around Rp 2.35 trillion (US$219.74 million) for this project.
The marketing manager of Agung Podomoro (Kuningan City) Zaldy Wihardja in a interview with VIVAnews said that the fund is going to be allocated in buildings, pedestrian, underground crossing zone construction. "[The plan] comes from only one developer. We don't know about the other developers," Wihardja said.
The fly over construction from Sampoerna Strategic Square to Manhattan Hotel will be funded by the Jakarta provincial government.
He mentioned that the supportive infrastructure construction should be based and run according to the regional government regulation and urban design guide line (UDGL).
The idea to develop this area came first from the Jakarta government and South Jakarta mayor which resulted the UDGL. "Based on the [UDGL] Satrio street will become the shopping belt international," he said.
