VIVAnews - The government gives two options for gas distribution from the Natuna D Alpha Block, Riau Islands, once the field starts operating.
Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro said that these two options are the distribution through pipelines as well as construction of LNG floating receiving terminal.
The West Natuna pipelines, which are utilized for exorting gas to Malaysia, may be extended to the East, which links Batam.
"We think we will make a combination [out of the two options]," he said in Jakarta on Thursday, April 23.
However, the combination of pipelines and receiving terminal can only be made possible if the gas reserve in the field can reach 50 trillion square feet. In the future, the gas will be distributed to Batam, Malaysia, and Singapore.
