VIVAnews - Four steam power plant projects belonging to state electricity company (PLN) have yet to receive funding. These projects are included in the 10,000 megawatts project.
According to PLN President Director Fahmi Mochtar in Jakarta on Friday, April 2009, of the total budget for the 10,000 MW project, they had acquired Rp 18.8 trillion of an overall Rp 19.2 trillion. Meanwhile, there has been US$2.18 billion of a total US$4.8 billion for the dollar portion needed.
Mochtar added that there have been 31 signed contracts of the total 35 plans in the 10,000 MW projects. 22 projects of the 31 signed contracts have been subsidised for funding both in dollar and rupiah currencies. Meanwhile, there are nine projects which have just received funding commitments in dollar and rupiah currencies. Four other projects have not yet been financed.
The funding commitment is planned to be signed during the Asian Development Bank (ADB) meeting in the coming May.
