VIVAnews - PT Aneka Tambang Tbk. (ANTM) announced that they would accelerate the optimisation execution of Fero Nikel III factory sometimes in May which was previously scheduled on July 2009.
It was stated by Antam's secretary corporate Bimo Budi Satriyo in a written statement on Tuesday night, April 21. The acceleration plan was made after the company's consideration on nickel market condition which was expected to get better in the end of 2009.
Therefore, Antam will take advantage of nickel stable price to execute the factory optimisation. "In the end of the year, it's expected to have maximum operation of the FeNi III factory," as stated by Satriyo.
The optimisation acceleration is necessary because of indication and signs of leak in the furnace wall at a weak fire-proof level bricks found in April 18. At present, FeNi III factory operation has been stopped for cooling, and the company expects the factory can be discharged in May 2009.
