VIVAnews - Special Adviser to Palestinian Prime Minister Sami Abu Huzair pays a visit to a handful of Indonesian parliamentary members. Huzair, who is also a Hamas figure, gave a speech in today's Friday Prayer whick took place at a mosque located in the Parliamentary complex.
According to a member of DPR Caucus for Palestine, Mahfudz Siddiq, on Friday, Jan 23, "[Huzair] is the first person giving direct explanation about the situation in Gaza."
"We are not afraid of inviting him. There is no special request. We would like to hear what kinds of measures the Palestinian government have taken after the cease fire agreement was made," said Mahfudz, Chairman of Justice and Prosperous Party Faction.
Huzair spoke openly to Hidayat Nur Wahid in front of the press concerning matters on how the Hamas troops obtained weapons. He said that Hamas was defending themselves against Israel's invasion.
"Hamas had many ways to gain armaments and to launch attacks," Huzair said.
However, Huzair was reluctant to reveal the weapon suppliers. According to him, the reason that Israel gave for attacking Palestine was unreasonable.
"Israel is the colonizer. Therefore, Hamas was defending agaainst their invasion," said Huzair, commenting on Israel's grounds that the country assaulted Gaza by virtue of Hamas' missile firings.
Moreover, the ceasefire was viewed as Hamas' victory. However, until today, Hamas has never stated that the attack will end.
"The war is over because the Israeli government decided to withdraw their troops from Gaza," Huzair said.
According to him, Hamas did not stop firing their missiles prior to, and during, the Israeli attacks. "Hamas's missiles almost hit Tel Aviv," said Huzair.
Huzair evaluated that Israel failed the war. "And we Palestinians have gained victory," said Huzair.
