VIVAnews - Chairperson of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) Hidayat Nur Wahid met Sudanese Ambassador to Indonesia Ibrahim Bushra Mohamed Ali at the Nusantara III building in the parliamentary complex on Thursday, March 12.
One of the issues discussed in the meeting was concerned with the International Crime Court (ICC)'s verdict over the Sudanese president on the Darfur genocide.
Ali considered that the verdict was a global conspiracy which was not based on law and justice. The reason for this was that the the ICC has never come to Darfur to investigate the case.
It is said that the ICC only summoned certain people that can be bribed to testify.
The main point that Ali mentioned was that Sudan is not a member of the ICC. Therefore, the ICC should have not given a verdict over the Sudanese president.
In addition, he also added that Sudan has always been cooperating with other international agencies.
Ali explained that his government never committed any genocide in Darfur. Therefore, the Sudanese government thought that it was an oddity that the ICC suspected the Sudanese president.
The ICC issued an arrest order over the Sudanese president. He was charged of being involved in war crime and crime against humanity in Darfur.
