VIVAnews - Head of Board of Trustees of Democratic Party Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono met with top leaders of Justice and Prosperous Party (PKS), National Mandate Party (PAN), National Awakening Party (PKB), Crescent Star Party (PBB). The meeting was not aimed at rivalling PDIP.
"We also befriend PDIP because Democratic [Party] can make friend with any parties," said one of the members of Democratic Party Central Board, Andi Mallarangeng, during a press conference in Bandung, West Java.
According to Mallarangeng, Democratic Party should improve partnership with other parties prior to the 2009 Elections in order to form a strong government.
He went on to say that in addition to welcoming the chance for other parties to set up a meeting, Democratic Party also embraces such parties' leaders as Prabowo Subianto and Wiranto.
