Yusril Questioned for Almost 9 Hours
VIVAnews – Former Minister of Justice and Human Rights, Yusril Ihza Mahendra, finally finished his second examination at the Attorney General’s Office (AGO). He was questioned for almost 9 hours, starting from 2.10pm.
Yusril only left the AGO’s building at 11.03pm, Thursday, Nov. 20. He was being examined as a witness regarding an alleged corruption related to access fees to the online Legal Entities Administration System (Sisminbakum), at www.sisminbakum.com.
The system is a project under the Department of Justice and Human Rights, concerning the application of the internet to establish and modify legal entities. The system is used for legalizing company deeds, approving modified statutes of limited liability companies, and fulfilling other requests that are within the ambits of the Director General of Common Law Administration's Decree.
The Attorney General’s Office estimates the state loss to be up to Rp 400 billion (approx. US$33.3 million).
Three individuals from the Department of Justice and Human Rights have been named suspects with regard to this case. They are: former General Directors of the Common Law Administration (AHU), Romli Atmasasmita and Zulkarnain Yunus, and the most recent General Director, Syamsudin Manan Sinaga, currently non-active.
The AGO has also questioned Yusril's ex-wife, Kessy Sukaesih.
Meanwhile, Hamid Awaluddin, another former Minister of Justice and Human Rights, is scheduled to be at the Attorney General’s Office, Jakarta, today, Friday, 21 November, by 7.00am. AGO’s spokesperson Jasman Panjaitan said that Hamid has given confirmation that he would appear for the examination.Hamid, who is currently Indonesian Ambassador for Russia would be questioned as a witness.
