VIVAnews - The Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW) weighed that the House of Representatives (DPR) is the party that hampers corruption eradication the most. DPR has in various issues been in a position of threatening and obstructing corruption eradication.
"The unoptimized performance of law enforcers is made worse by the opposing manners shown by several DPR factions," said ICW researcher Febri Diansyah on Monday, Jan 5.
ICW has been creating records and making observations every year. According to Diansyah, there is counter-attack against the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and, in fact, there is a plan to revise the KPK authority to wiretap conversations. "The plan came up since many legislators were investigated by KPK," Diansyah said.
In addition, DPR also tried to remove Ad Hoc Judges during the second revision of Law on Supreme Court. "They [DPR] are very slow in preparing and legalizing Draft Bill on Anti-Corruption Court," Diansyah said.
There was also manipulation on law which reinforced the reclusion of the Supreme Court with regard to revisions of its two law. "Now, the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) does not have the authority to audit," he said.
According to ICW's reports, from 2005 until June 2008, there is as much as Rp 31.12 billion (US$2.8 milllion) of court fees in the Supreme Court that were not processed comprehensively.
