Munir's Wife Reports Case to UN

VIVAnews - Suciwati, wife of late Human Rights activist Munir Said Thalib, is planning to report the verdict of Central Jakarta District Court stating former defendant Muchdi Purwarprajono as not guilty to the UN Human Rights Commission. Suciwati will also continue to keep an eye on an appeal which is going to be submitted by Attorney General's Office (AGO) to the Supreme Court.

"I will reply an invitation concerning special filer of Human Rights defender in the United Nations as well as filing report to the United Nations," she told VIVAnews on Sunday, Jan 11.

According to her, the report may draw the world's attention toward the unsolved Munir's case. "The Indonesian court may obtain witnesses from the United Nations because it has not carried out a joint agreement on Human Rights Defense," she said.

Regarding the ongoing appeal processes, Suciwati said that she will continue to observe the processes and support AGO to seriously handle the case. "I hope that I can organize a discussion with AGO so that it can work on the case seriously," said Suciwati.

Earlier, Suciwati proposed an appeal and AGO would register the appeal to the Supreme Court this week.
