VIVAnews - It is reported that PT Berlian Laju Tanker (BLTA) will share dividends of Rp 120 per share due to a report of the 2008 net profit that will be released.
A VIVAnews source said the company is planning to share dividends of around 30 percent. Although the 2008 financial report is still being audited, it is figured that the net profit reached Rp 400 per share.
"By September 2008, Tanker's net profit reached Rp 1.75 trillion (US$162.2 million) or Rp 380 per share," he said in Jakarta on Friday, Feb 27.
Director/Corporate Secretary of Berlian Laju Tanker, Kevin Wong, confirmed that the company has not yet discussed the plan to share dividends. "It is usually discussed in a General Meeting of Shareholders," he told VIVAnews in Jakarta.
However, he acknowledged that the company will in the near future talk over several options to hold a corporate act this year. "It will be announced to the public," Wong said.
Per 31 January 2009, Citibank Singapore S/A CBSG-CDP-Indonesia owned 13 percent of BLTA-coded shares and 53 percent of PT Tunggaladhi Baskara-2. The remaining shares are owned by the public.
Research Head of PT Paramitra Alfa Sekuritas Pardomuan Sihombing said BLTA's plan of sharing dividends will affect corporates' share movement in the stock exchange.
Up until the third quarter of this year, the company has managed to gain revenues of Rp 5.05 trillion (US$ 411.9 million) or a growth if 88.43 percent compared to the same period in 2007 with Rp 2.68 trillion (US$220.6 million).
In addition, net profit increased by 236.4 percent to Rp 1.75 trillion (US$144.141 million) compared to the previous Rp 519.11 billion (US$42.75 million).
