VIVAnews - PT Bank Mandiri Tbk. said that they are still hoping that Bank Indonesia as the stock holder of NV De Indonesische Overzeese Bank (Indover Bank) to fulfil their obligation in returning the unpaid loan fund. Mandiri's loan values Rp 340 billion.
"We still have claim with Indover and we expect it to be solved," said the managing director of Bank Mandiri, Agus Martawardojo, after meeting with the State Minister for State Enterprises, Sofyan Djalil, on Thursday Feb. 5.
Martowardojo thought that Indover credit deferment will not give any impact on the company's performance this year since Mandiri has already made plans for every risk. Nevertheless, the managing director expressed his regret over this matter.
He expected that the recovery of Indover will be done. Indover was given a direct and syndicated loan from Mandiri. Therefore, the bank can hold a discussion with Indover or the syndicate. "If it is necessary to liquidate, it must be done as soon as possible," he said.
The Netherlands court has decided to freeze Indover Bank's, which located in Amsterdam, operational activities. The freeze on operational activities started on Oct. 7 2008. It was done after Indover had liquidity difficulties as a result of global financial crisis.
