Yemen Investor Interested in Palm Oil

VIVAnews - Although cancelling for participating in the World Islamic Economic Forum on Monday March 2, the Yemen President, Ali Abdullah Saled, said he will continue maintain the bilateral cooperation with Indonesia. Yemen business community is aiming at palm oil business in Indonesia.

The issue on oil palm investment was aroused as President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono met Abdullah Saled at the Halim Perdanakusumah airport, Jakarta on Sunday, March 1. In the meeting, Abdullah Saled said that he could not take part in the World Islamic Economic Forum because he must attend a trial concerning a parliamentary case.

Yudhoyono expressed his gratitude upon Abdullah Saleh's effort in participating in the meeting. "The bilateral relationship will be thrived mostly on trade and cooperation in palm oil. There has already been a Yemen company permitted to work on 15,000 hectares of oil palm plantation in South Kalimantan," said presidential spokesperson Dino Patti Djalal as quoted from www.presidensby.info.

President Yudhyono also expected that the joint commission between Indonesia and Yemen will be continuously improved. "The Yemen president expressed his gratitude for Indonesia's leadership in holding the World Islamic Forum," said Djalal.
