JATS-NextG Records 87 Thousand Orders

VIVAnews - The first day of the new implemented trading system, the Jakarta Automated Trading System (JATS)-Next Generation, launched on Monday, March 2, at the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), recorded that 87,215 orders and 33,204 transactions were made.

IDX's press release which was publicized on Monday, March 2, noted that the system will help disseminate integrated trading information and monitoring of all products. The JATS-NextG is designed to be capable of handling one million orders and 500 thousand transactions per day.

The capacity is larger than the previous trading system which accommodated 360 thousand orders and 200 thousand transactions per day.

The new system was launched to anticipate and support the IDX development. In addition, the system will facilitate share trading in the IDX. It is expected that the condition can maintain an orderly, natural and efficient trading.

"JATS-NextG is a replacement of the previous JATS, which had been in operation since 1995," the press release stated.

In the future, the JATS-NextG will be able to handle such financial products as shares, obligations and derivative in one platform applying gradual implementation. For the time being, the system is initiated by share trading implementation. It is hoped that the derivative products and bonds will be completed in two years.
