Palestine Seeks Support from Indonesia

VIVAnews - Chairman of Palestinian Legislative Council, Ahmed Bahar, visited Indonesia along with other eight members of the legislative council. The visit is aimed at seeking support for the Palestinian struggle.

According to Bahar, today the delegation has met Chairman of Chairman of House of Representatives (DPR) Agung Laksono. "To gain support for the struggle of the Palestinian people especially the lifting of Israel's embargo," said Bahar on Tuesday, March 10.

In addition to gaining support, said Bahar, the country also wants to put pressure against the United States and Israel that are in charge of the attacks to Gaza Strip.

"We are demanding that they release Palestinian figures that Israel put in captivation," he said. Bahar was convinced that the support from Indonesia will be important. He viewed that Indonesia has a significant role in the world.

Israel started to launch attacks against Palestine on 27 December 2008, focusing its aggression on Gaza Strip where 1.5 million Palestinians were living. Thousands of Palestinians were killed during the aggression.
