VIVAnews - The court in George Town, Penang district, Malaysia on Thursday, April 2, stated that the trial continuation of an Indonesian maid will be held on June 11, 2009.
Hanni Seo is charged with attempted murder for attacking Phang Kian Huang, 42, at her house in Rifle Range, Air Itam, at 10am on Feb 26.
As quoted from The Star on Friday, April 3, a legal representative V.M. Ravindran said he was appointed by the Indonesian Consulate General to defend the maid from Kupang in West Timor on Thursday.
During the first trial on 5 March 2009, Seo attended the trial without any assistance from a legal representative. Due to language issue, she did not comprehend the charges as well.
The offence under Section 307(1) of the Penal Code carries a jail term of up to 20 years upon conviction.
The next trial will present eight to ten witnesses.
