VIVAnews - PT Holcim Indonesia Tbk (SMCB) is planning to fully take control of Holcim Malaysia shares. The company will request the approval of the general meeting of shareholders concerning the corporate act by May 18, 2009.
"Internally, the management has agreed on the issue. It awaits the approval from the share holders," Corporate Communication Manager of Holcim Indonesia, Budi Primawan, told VIVAnews on Wednesday, April 15.
According to him, the proposal of the acquisition plan of Holcim Malaysia has been approved by the board of commissioners. The company has also reported the corporate act plan to the Capital Market and Financial Institution Supervisory Agency (Bapepam-LK) in March 2009.
The management is hoping that the acquisition processes will be carried out as soon as possible after the takeover plan is agreed by the share holders. "This is in line with the good corporate governance and the interest of the share holders," he said.
The plan, he said, has been discussed with the holding company as well as Holcim Malaysia.
However, he has yet to explain about the total value of the acquisition plan.
