VIVAnews - Three options on the presidential elections were discussed during Golkar national board meeting today, April 23. One of the options is to continue the coalition with the Democratic Party.
Head of Golkar Regional Board of Gorontalo, Fadel Mohammad, told reporters that other options include setting up coalition with the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) as well as nominating its own candidate.
"I say no to the last option. If we force Kalla to proceed, it would be pity for him," said Mohammad.
Clearly, he said, Jusuf Kalla as the chairperson is mandated to carry on with the communication processes to other political parties.
Mohammad denied that the decision to the keep the coalition with the Democratic Party would delegitimize Golkar's statement on Wednesday, April 22. "That is not true. The process is still going on. The best solution must be obtained," he said.
