VIVAnews - Creditor of PT Newmont Nusa Tenggara (NNT) may grant debt relieve to the US-based coal mining company.
"In the short while, there is a clear indication from the senior lender to free shares that will be divested to the government," said Director General of Mineral, Coal and Geothermal at the Department of Energy Bambang Setiawan on Friday, May 1, in Jakarta.
According to him, the creditor also possesses assets in other companies worldwide.
Setiawan said Newmont should have settled its debt easily. It is evident that the company's debt remains US$350 million.
