Century Hopes BI Stops Monitoring

VIVAnews - PT Bank Century Tbk. expects that BI delists the bank from its list of monitored banks. Century argued that its condition has already complied with BI regulations. However the company's status will be updated after a financial report is issued in the near future.

Century President Director Maryono said Century has met several conditions issued by BI. He cited several indicators such as above eight percent capital adequacy ratio (CAR), now recorded at 8.48 percent, and reserve requirement (GWM) of 5.1 percent.

"So we're expecting that BI will delist Century from the special monitored list," he said in Jakarta on Wednesday, April 29.

In four months, January to April 2009, Century has managed a third party fund valuing Rp 595 billion. Outstanding third party fund reached Rp 5.2 trillion. Century's non-performing loan was cut down to 10.39 percent per March from a previous 14.8 percent in December 2008. Century is targeting to flatten non-performing loan to 6 percent in 2009.
