VIVAnews - PT United Tractors Tbk (UNTR) generated net income in the first quarter of 2009 amounting to Rp 6.97 trillion, a 20 percent increase compared to the same period of 2008.
The rise is due to the increase in coal production and overburden removal volume.
United Tractors Investor Relations, Ari Setiyawan, said profit before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) grew to Rp 1.81 trillion compared to the same period of 2008.
"The EBITDA margin is reaches 26 percent compared to the first quarter of 2008 of 19.7 percent," he told VIVAnews on Wednesday, April 29.
The net income reaches almost 47 percent.
Setiyawan said the gross profit increased by 61 percent to Rp 1.65 trillion from the previous Rp 1.03 trillion. The business profit grew to Rp 1.33 trillion compared to the same period of 2008 of Rp 780 billion. It then triggered the increase in net profit by 57 percent to Rp 812 billion from the previous Rp 517 billion.
