VIVAnews - The West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) government is going to establish an international standard Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (Muslim elementary school) in East Lombok regency.
The West Nusa Tenggara governor Muhammad Zainul Majdi said that the international standard school will later develop progressively through the regency and city in West Nusa Tenggara.
"We must increase the education quality immediately to increase our low society's IPM [Human Development Index]," he answered to the reporters in Mataram.
Other than regency and city, the international standard school is going to be constructed in every sub-district so the lower class society can feel the direct impact.
The international standard Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) is going to be constructed on a ten-hectares area. Later, the school will have a complete supportive facility such as laboratory, exercise field, and a special facility for self development.
Suhaimi Azmi, the head of West Nusa Tenggara Religious Affairs Department's office, stressed that they will build some classes which each will accommodate 24 to 30 students.
Every teacher in the school will endure training before starting to teach. "International standard means every teacher is trained and professional. We may recruit foreign teachers," he said.
Besides the international standard MI in East Lombok, they plan to establish another 13 international MI in West Nusa Tenggara. Azmi expected that the government program will receive a wide support from every one. This program is also expected to increase West Nusa Tenggara society's human development index.
