Landslide Buries Dozens of Homes

VIVAnews - Landslide resulted from incessant rain buried around 28 homes in Mount Bromo on Tuesday, Feb 17. The landslide also damaged a track leading to Bromo tourist attraction.

Samiudin, a local inhabitant, said heavy rain caused the cliff along the road to collapse and hit the said homes.

The landslide affected 22 spots spreading in Wonokitri, Sedaeng, Tosari, Baledono and Ngadiwono Villages, Tosari Subdistrict, Pasuruan, East Java. "Three spots are among the most affected spots causing tourist track to Mount Bromo to be closed," said Margiatmoko, an officer of Perhutani Forestry Agency.

Up until today, the landslide is still closing the road.
