VIVAnews - The Department of Finance reported 260 undeclared accounts to Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). 102 of them accounts belong to the Supreme Court.
Supreme Court spokesperson Djoko Sarwoko acknowledged that he was surprised upon finding out about that the Supreme Court owns 102 undeclared accounts. "I don't know there are so many of them," Sarwoko told VIVAnews on Friday, Dec 19.
The Department of Finance has sent a letter to KPK to look into 260 undeclared accounts in the amount of Rp 314.2 billion and US$1.1 million. The Supreme Court is viewed as the most non-transparent because it failed to submit the requested data.
According to Sarwoko, he was informed that the number of undeclared accounts belonging to the Supreme Court was only 50. "However, everything has been settled," said the Junior Chairperson of Supervision Division at the Supreme Court.
Sarwoko said that he will verify the validity of the report. "I will clarify everything today," he said.
In addition to the Supreme Court, the undeclared accounts also belong to the Department of Social Affairs (one account) in the amount of Rp 29.282 billion; two undeclared accounts belonging to Upstream Oil and Gas Regulator in the amount of US$10.702 million; 32 undeclared accounts belonging to the Department of Agriculture with unknown values; 36 undeclared accounts belonging to the Department of Domestic Affairs in the amount of Rp 88.57 billion and US$52,558.66; undeclared accounts belonging to the Department of Justice and Human Rights in the amount of Rp 56.82 billion; and 21 undeclared accounts belonging to the Department of Manpower and Transmigration in the amount of Rp 139.438 billion and US$270,573.
Regarding the report from the Department of Finance, KPK stated that it will follow up with the processes.
